That was done around the middle of last year. Some VA patients were given HCQ. They were well into their illnesses when it was given (I.e.., too late), and they mostly elderly and obese. This treatment was designed to fail.
They started with hospitalized patients, which is kind of late in the course of covid. Some were even on ventilators. Rates of ventilation in the HC, HC+AZ, and no HC groups were 13.3%, 6.9%, 14.1%, respectively.(34.3% total) Some were given only HCQ, some were given HCQ+AZ. None were given Zinc which is another fail. No Vit D either. They didn't follow Zelenko's protocol which was about the only one around at the time.
