The police were in an unmarked white van when they opened fire on a crowd with rubber bullets. They hit Stallings who thought they were real bullets so he grabbed his pistol, which he had a permit for, and fired back. Once it became clear they were police he dropped his gun and lay face down on the pavement. The police then proceeded to beat him as he lay on the ground. The police own body cams were evidence against them.
Bamboozled the court and jury real good with that story. Props to his attorney.
I’m not familiar with the matter. Was the officer shot while he was in the van? If so, I’m gonna have to side with the defense.
Please disregard my question. I read the post too fast and assumed a policeman was shot.
There have been other cases.
When the police act like criminals, they may be treated as criminals.
If thats what happened, the jury made the correct decision.
Seems like justice was served here.
Stallings did the right thing.
