The drug was created to treat humans, and that’s still a prevalent or predominant use.
Have you checked why the ivermectin used to treat horses is dangerous for humans? There has to be a good reason.
You could ask a doctor what the difference is between Ivermectin for livestock and that for humans. I talked to my pharmacist about taking it meant for livestock and she laughed, saying it was not meant for humans. She said I would be foolish to take it. I should have asked what was the difference in the ingredients that makes it dangerous for humans.
Doing a quick search, this is what I read:
“many inactive ingredients found in animal products aren’t evaluated for use in people,” the FDA warned. “In some cases, we don’t know how those inactive ingredients will affect how ivermectin is absorbed in the human body.”
Ivermectin tablets and topical formulations for humans have “very specific doses” that are significantly smaller than the doses meant for animals, the agency explained.
