"I’ve tried those tubes - the ones I’ve used have been very close to the taste of fresh herbs."I often make stir fried veggies and chicken and use the tubes of garlic and ginger. I keep them in my freezer and pull them out at the start of my prep. By the time I get to them they have thawed enough to squeeze out what I need and then pop them back in the freezer. They keep a long time that way.

Walmart’s bananas we got from the curbside pick up looked fine yesterday but are really getting brown this morning. Needing to put them in the fridge already and hubby doesn’t like them cold.

That’s a great idea, thank you! They are not cheap & that’s a good way to preserve the contents. I have only used the basil, but since my rosemary burned up I am going to pick up a tube.

Deboned, marinated and grilled thighs are the best. Also great with grilled veggies on the side.

I’ve found it useful to hydrate some of my vegetables. They last longer. They get dehydrated in transit and sitting in the store.
When I get lettuce, broccoli, cauliflower or celery I immediately slice off the bottom of the stem and put it in water, cover it and let it soak up what it needs. It lasts much longer. The celery I keep in water in the fridge after cutting the bottom.

This guy, Serious Keto, has the easiest dressing you will ever see, in fact he is a very popular Keto YouTuber, of which there are many. He uses keto solely for weight control not diabetic.
Here is a really simple Keto Ranch Two ingredients, heavy cream and vinegar, season to taste many variations. Video Here.

Thanks. Serious Keto is one of my husband’s favorites. (He does exhaustive experiments with ‘chaffles’.)

that’s a very good idea - you can do it with fresh herbs, too. I would cover the top with a ‘baggie’.

When they start to get too black, I peel and bag them, and put them in the freezer to save for smoothies or banana bread.
Smoothie (much better than Starbucke):
1 banana
a handful of strawberries or other frozen fruit
about 8 ounces of apple juice.
Whiz in the blender.

Why would you want to pee in the blender? You might be making a smoothie for Hillary.
To: BlueLancer
‘Whiz’ can have a lot of meanings.

Walmart has the worst produce and the prices aren’t that great.
Their garlic comes from China. (Chinese garlic has no roots)
When’s the last time we’ve seen a head of lettuce where the bottom wasn’t browning?

Maybe I just don’t appreciate ‘potty humor’ on my cooking thread.
(With few exceptions, we’ve always done our best to even keep politics out of it. People have found that restful.)
