I had hand surgery a few days ago and writing and typing are tough at the moment. Anybody got a HELPFUL suggestion for a dictation app that works across the Microsoft 365 suite? TIA
I found this: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/garage/profiles/dictate/
If you have windows 10 press the windows key + H. This will bring up the built-in speech to text control.
I never knew this. Thanks for sharing as I need it from time to time.
Dragon Naturally Speaking has been around forever. All will require you to train the software, especially if you have a strong accent, NYer, Southern drawl etc.

You have my extreme sympathy. In 2014, I severed all four tendons in my right hand requiring surgical reattachment. I can’t help you with the dictation but I would like to share an exercise I used to strengthen my hand.
I would place a pencil, a pen would work, on my desk. I would then place the fingertips of the injured hand over and along side of the pencil. I would then lift and move my fingers to the other side of the pencil. I would do this for about an hour a day. Suggest you ask your therapist about this.
BTW, I can now touch type with both hands with no pain or other issues. Took about six months to fully recover. The absolute most important issues to do your therapy.
Open a Word document and in the Home tab on the right side of the puttons is “Dictate”. It works fine as long as you don’t click the screen while recording. It doesn’t add punctuation automatically though.
hi, I am testing the speech texture application on the Chrome browser. I can see that it does not recognize its own name, which is speechtexter, except that is two words. In any case, the voice recognition on this application is far far better than Windows 10 own speech-to-text softwareoh, and it is better than Dragon software which I have used in the past, at least up to version 11. However this application is free. I am using a USB microphone and I will give you the name later. While you were speaking, you can see what understand you were saying to a visible pop up above the text box. You do need to add punctuation, and I probably have missed some here. This is about all I'm going to say for now, but maybe everything that we say and do give glory to God, thanks be to him.
Also, the Dictation box free software also works quite well in Chrome, though that is not my preferred browser by far. Thank God for a variety of options.
