CNN: Rand Paul has a *very* wacky theory about ivermectin
CNN ^ | Sep 1 | by Chris Cillizza

Posted on 09/01/2021 6:40:26 AM PDT by RandFan

Rand Paul is, by training, a doctor of ophthalmology. Which has to do with eyes. Not infectious disease.

That fact hasn't stopped Paul from repeatedly challenging Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, in congressional hearings. Or from openly questioning the efficacy of mask-wearing. Or raising questions about the Covid-19 vaccine.

Paul's latest? He's insisting that ivermectin, a drug used in rare instances in humans to treat maladies including intestinal parasites and head lice, isn't being studied as a possible treatment for coronavirus patients because of politics.

"The hatred for Trump deranged these people so much, that they're unwilling to objectively study it," Paul told a group in northern Kentucky late last week. "So someone like me that's in the middle on it, I can't tell you because they will not study ivermectin. They will not study hydroxychloroquine without the taint of their hatred for Donald Trump."

To be clear: Paul IS NOT in the "middle" when it comes to the use of ivermectin. He is WAY on the conspiracy theory end of the spectrum.

Start here: Ivermectin has drawn national headlines of late because some elected officials (like Sen. Ron Johnson of Wisconsin), as well as some anchors on Fox News, have pushed it as a possible way to lessen the effects and severity of Covid-19.

I believe this rhetoric technique is referred to as ‘appeal to authority’ - you can’t have an opinion because you’re not a (fill in the blank).

Rand Paul is a medical doctor.

Chris from CNN is a talking-head hack, who repeats Jeff Zucker’s instructions like a good little presstitute.

Thus, ivermectin must be extremely effective.

What does Rand Paul know? He’s just a doctor. I’m from CNN, so of course I’m an expert.

The eyes are among the most susceptible vectors for infection and spreading disease. Any eye surgeon would be up on this stuff.

The head of the Tokyo Medical Association finds Ivermection effective, is he an unqualified quack, too?

Nice twist CNN. Using the "Appeal to Authority" logical fallacy in new and exciting ways. CNN is basically saying "Fauci is an expert, how dare you question him!"

Or from openly questioning the efficacy of mask-wearing. Or raising questions about the Covid-19 vaccine.

Ah, continuing the theme. "How dare you challenge the narrative? How dare you ask questions?" Fascists don't like questions, don't like having to go to the trouble of making excrement up and keeping their lies straight.

...ivermectin, a drug used in rare instances in humans to treat maladies including intestinal parasites and head lice, isn't being studied as a possible treatment for coronavirus patients because of politics.

Total bullshit! It has been used in Africa and South America for decades on humans to treat River Blindness and is totally safe for human use. It is also an effective treatment for scabies. Give Fauchi's patent on the Covid-19 virus in 2006 and his handing it over to the Wuhan Labs, I wouldn't trust Fachi as far as I could throw him...and neither should you.

Chris The Lizzard weighs in.

Why not give the "rubes" their ten bucks worth of Ivermectin, Chrissie?

After all, in low-IQ Africa, people use it all the time for River Blindness, and it doesn't injure or kill them.

Is Africa in a different universe, with different human health outcomes?   thinking face

Ivermectin, according to CNN, is “ a drug used in rare human instances “.

A bold faced lie. It is a 40 year old drug, dispensed over 4 billion times to humans, to treat parasites, and river blindness.

As usual, CNN is 180 degrees opposite of the truth.

Dr. Rand Paul is a medical doctor, a doctor of medicine. A doctor of the healing arts requires 4 years of
identical training as the famed Dr. Fauxi.

You, Chris Cillizza, are not a doctor of anything. You are a communist hack.

“It is a ... drug, dispensed ... to humans, to treat ... river BLINDNESS.”

But, of course, Paul knows nothing about BLINDNESS, seeing as how he’s an MD / OPHTHALMOLOGIST. In fact, he frequently volunteers his time and skills to third-world countries to treat eye issues. He might have a clue.

Does CNN have an office in India ? Maybe they should ask the doctors there.

“Paul’s latest? He’s insisting that ivermectin, a drug used in rare instances in humans”

Took 4 sentences to get to the first flat-out lie. The drug has been used billions of times in humans - if that’s rare, then what is frequent?

Thus, ivermectin must be extremely effective.

Furthermore, the last time CNN reported on India & 'covid' was when they could report >400k deaths (over a month ago), and the last time they reported on Israel was well over 4 weeks ago when the country was touted as a 'vaccine success story'.

Yes, CNN is utter propaganda, and Ivermectin must certainly be EXTREMELY EFFECTIVE.

Fauci is obsessed with a vaccine and NEVER gives any "treatment" heads up.

He pulled the same cr** with AIDS....vaccine or nothing...and a vaccine never came.

Rand Paul has a special talent....research. What his specialty is....is what it is. But he went all through medical school just like Fauci.
