Kids’ noses armed with pre-activated cells designed to fight off coronavirus, new study

NDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Studies show children have a substantially lower risk of contracting the coronavirus, and if they do get infected, the case is much less severe. And now scientists are beginning to understand why.

Listen to this story The extra layer of protection resides in children’s nasal cavities. It’s an innate response kids are born with that’s designed to fight respiratory viruses of all kinds, including COVID-19.

Scientists found through nasal swabs that kids showed higher concentrations of pattern recognition receptors — also known as PPRs — compared to adults.

“It’s not necessarily that kids don’t get COVID,” Dr. Christopher Doerhring, vice president of medical affairs at Franciscan Health, told News 8. “But what it probably does do is lead to a bigger challenge for the virus to replicate, and so they show shorter course, more mild illness and thankfully less risk of spreading the virus because of those factors.”

While the study sample was small, researchers detected at least five defensive cells: MDA5, RGI-1, KLRC1, Cyotoxic T-cells and CD8 T-cells.

“Our data provide clear evidence that the immune cells of the upper airways of children are pre-activated and primed for sensing the coronavirus,” authors say in the paper published in Nature Biotechnology. “The sensitivity of these cells may explain why children are better able to control early stage infection compared to adults therefore reducing risk of developing severe COVID-19.”

Hopefully this can lead to increasing it in adults and the mRNA clot shot won’t be getting forced on is all.

Well by all means let’s throw a mask over the best defense these kids have.

That is interesting.

There must be a way to safely enhance that protection.

I know a kid who had COVID. Slight fever that responded to Tylenol, slight scratchy throat, slight headache, slight stuffy nose and slightly crampy stomach. Thought she just had an allergy/cold.

I have spoke many times about our innate immune system. No doubt countless people have came in contact with covid and never got sick. Defeated the virus while never creating or utilizing any antibodies. The innate immune system is the reason why.

We really need to trust our whole immune system. There is no reason to fear covid, and certainly no reason to vaccinate with a highly experimental gene therapy.

We should vaccinate our teachers. Allow your students get covid. Acquire herd immunity. Get out of this so-called “pandemic”.

I hope the children will have lifelong immunity, not necessarily perfect, but so that any reinfection will be mild.

There are some diseases it’s better to get as a child. Zika would be one. If a little girl gets Zika, she should be immune when she is old enough to be pregnant.

I know nothing. Assuming that COVID-19 is like other coronaviruses, all the children will get exposed to the virus so that in the future the vaccine will be unnecessary.

We all had it, and our son was the least impacted.

At 12 yo he caught it fast as we all did, but he started with a bit of a headache, for which by dinner time he took ibuprofen, and it cleared up. A few days later we noticed some sniffles. That was it.

Sounds kind of what Xlear nasal spray is supposed to do.

Had we done nothing at all, covid would already be in our rear view mirror.

TPTB have a vested interest in prolonging this as long as they can. Every decision thus far has only served to prolong the virus. Lockdowns, social distancing, masking, flattening the curve, all prolong the virus. Flattening the curve does not change death count, it merely prolongs it. I see no reason to have a virus circulating in hummanity any longer than it needs to.

We'll take a hit. For sure, it'll be quite a blow. But we'll develop herd immunity. This thing is more contagious than the Spanish flu or perhaps our world is much more connected than it was 100 years ago.

We should had gone ahead with 15 days to slow the spread as planned. Give our medical system time to absorb the blow. Then we'll go all in.

As a result, the virus will have less opportunities to mutate. Everyone would be immune by then. The virus will never go away but it will fade just like the Spanish flu did.

Now that they’ve messed with the progression by introducing a shot during the pandemic, what in your estimation will occur?

An eventual decrease in the occurrence?

That’s what my kid has now. Sent home from school and not allowed back until he gets a negative Covid test or 10 days. Got a “rapid” test for him today that will be ready by Friday maybe?
No one in the school want to hear anything about a cold. Colds don’t exist anymore apparently.

No idea. The problem is that we may be constantly hit with covid-19 variants so any immunity we may have acquired might be temporary.

We are giving the virus too many opportunities to mutate and you bet it is taking advantage of that.

One thing for sure, we can't trust anyone working at CDC or NIH. They simply do not know. Seems like the Swedes have the best approach with this the whole time.
