You are making incorrect assumptions.
Helicopters maintenance schedules are demanding. Some have said 10 hours of maintenance per 1 hour of flight. Each bird has very specific needs, tools, parts and fluids.
Do you remember stories of helicopters going down by the Grand Canyon that were full of tourists? A fixed wing plane is easy compared to choppers.
