The Marine captured in a photo cooing over a rescued Afghan infant last week was identified as one of the 13 US service members slaughtered in Thursday’s terror attack in Kabul.
“I love my job,” Sgt. Nicole Gee, 23, captioned the Aug. 20 snap on Instagram, showing her peering down at the baby in her arms.
The photo was later picked up by the Pentagon and shared on its Twitter account. Sgt. Nicole Gee had recently earned a meritorious promotion to sergeant and boasted perfect fitness score Gee was from Roseville, Calif.
...But she was fixed on the thought of Gee’s car, which Harrison had been maintaining in her buddy’s absence.
“Her car is still there, & she’s gone forever,” Harrison wrote.

Women shouldn’t be in the Army like this.
................................................
She wasn’t in the Army.
See 59.
Are you smart enough to work at a pet shop or on a farm?
Do you believe that men can get pregnant?
See 59.
Should we send young women into combat, while millions of healthy young American men sit at home playing video games, while on govt. “unemployment” benefits?
Do you believe that “men can get pregnant?”
“A nation that sends its young women to be killed in war, while millions of young men stay home to play video games on govt. “unemployment” benefits, is a nation that is circling the drain toward its doom.”
Bears repeating.
“Women shouldn’t be in the Army like this.
................................................
She wasn’t in the Army.”
Army shouldn’t be capitalized.
Substitute military and then stop avoiding the subject.
It needs to be snuffed out. With Prejudice.
...........................................
Well hopefully Russia and/or China will see to it because America and its allies certainly don’t have the stomach for it.
Substitute military and then stop avoiding the subject.
......................................
Contrary to avoiding the subject I’m 100% in agreement with your major premise. Even so, Marines are never correctly referred to as Army OR army.
—”Army shouldn’t be capitalized.”
Are you sure?
The ever-vigilant Grammar Patrol keeps me on speed dial, and they say otherwise.
Always capitalize the names of the U.S. military services: Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Space Force, Coast Guard, National Guard, Army Reserves, Marine Corps Reserves and Navy Reserves.
If you look at the pictures at the link what a beautiful young girl.
I’m beyond pissed right now...just heartbreaking.

Of course not. You must have misunderstood my post to ifinnegan. I am 100% opposed to women deployed in any combat unit, on any naval vessel, or in the military academies. During World War II, women served in many positions in direct support of military efforts but were excluded from combat positions. That should be the policy today.
__”I’m beyond pissed right now...just heartbreaking.”
All because some a-hole wanted to give a speech on 9-11 and completed failed to plan anything.
Agree.
Her death was a great loss to humanity.
May she rest in the peace of the Lord.
Amen brother.
Two of my hometowns so far, Roseville and Riverside
I’d like to know why 20yo’ds were on the most dangerous post instead of seasoned men who were more experienced at spotting red flags. NOT saying the marines were incompetent - they are marines after all and sharp as tacks, just with a lot less realtime experience in massive crowds
Prayers up for our fallen. God bless them. Rip
She’s a Marine and A Marine Sergeant and probably better trained to fight than 80% of all members of the US military.
She had a PREFECT Marine Psychical fitness test, that alone says that she was more capable than a lot of MARINES.
Check the context.
I meant army generically as in armed forces.
—”I meant army generically as in armed forces.”
So you were discussing the French Army?
Yes, contextual.
And the context was the U.S. Army.
—”I’d like to know why 20yo’ds were on the most dangerous post “
I can only speculate I have seen nothing factual, yet.
This was a NEO (Noncombatant Evacuation Operation).
Females are needed for dealing with other females nothing new.
A guardhouse checkpoint at the airport perimeter.
Checking paperwork and ? preboarding patdown for contraband? Maybe?
Possible senior NCO or junior officer inside the guardhouse? In the area? Radio contact?
All SOP.
The actual security, BELIEVE IT OR NOT, is provided by the Taliban; biden made this agreement!
The suicide bomber is claimed to be ISIS—NOT TALIBAN— like it makes a difference.
A short five-page read with insight into how it works.
This article is from 1999 and has been updated, this is the basics.
An easy and enjoyable read.
“The Strategic Corporal: Leadership in the Three Block War”
“— on average, once every five weeks. On any given day, up to 29,000 Marines are forward deployed around the world. In
far-flung places like Kenya, Indonesia, and Albania, they have stood face-to-face with the perplexing and hostile challenges of the chaotic
post Cold War world for which the “rules” have not yet been written. The three block war is not simply a fanciful metaphor for future
conflicts — it is a reality. Like Corporal Hernandez, today’s Marines have already encountered its great challenges and they have been
asked to exercise an exceptional degree of maturity, restraint, and judgment. “
...”The future battlefields on which Marines fight will be increasingly hostile, lethal, and chaotic. Our success
will hinge, as it always has, on the leadership of our junior Marines. We must ensure that they are prepared to lead.”

No, I don’t believe men can get pregnant. Do you believe the only thing a woman is good for is making and tending to babies, and that the life she gave for this great nation was worthless because she wasn’t barefoot and pregnant?
Whatever you may think about women serving in the military, she did serve, and she did die. She made the ultimate sacrifice. She earned the respect and gratitude of this nation, whether you understand that or not.
