Just because the other kids make fun of your kid and beat him up is not a good reason to homeschool.

If your kid tried going to school and it made him cry, homeschooling
will only set him up to cry harder when he hits the real world.

You have obviously never had the real world experience of having a colleague who has been home educated.

I guess my thirty-two year old homeschooled son on track to make well o we double six figures this year with hundreds of clients and referral partners in finance has not made it in what YOUR idea of the real world is, but in the actual real world he's doing quite well - socially, mentally, financially, and spiritually.

I guess my daughter who earned her graduate degree in education and teaching and has several years under her belt in her field is a failure and can't handle the real world.

Probably my third child who is finishing his undergraduate degree in music composition and has been sought after to score special projects can't handle the real world either.

My poor younger children have no hope in their perspective studies and fields either. They just can't handle the “real world.”

Why don't you go enlarge your world and participate with the MILLIONS of homeschool graduates out there instead of painting a picture full of false agenda-driven ideas?

I used to agree with this.
However, I have come to the conclusion that no child should have to face torment and physical abuse daily. Instead of making them stronger, it breaks their spirit and destroys their self esteem.
I watched a friend child go through this kind of bullying, and he became a different child when she finally pulled him out of school.

Plus, “in the real world” an adult would never put up with this kind of abuse.
An adult would be able to sue their employer for harassment, and/or have the person arrested for assault.

Why should our kids get any less protection?

Did humble gunner account get hacked? Homeschool is a lot of work, but it is great. My 11 year old loves to read magazines dealing with boatbuilding. It is great when you learn something, like boat building.

Your ASSumptions are par for the course.

My son didn’t see the inside of a public school until high school and the kids who tried bullying him did not fare well.

The one I will share is that the kid ended up head first in a snowbank.

My son was taught to take care of himself.

I met only two homeschooled kids who were removed from school because they were bullied. One was diagnosed with cancer. He lost his hair to chemo, and the kids at school kept beating him up. Another was a girl who was assaulted by a boy. In both cases, the principals were no help at all. They didn’t want to punish the kids or call police. You don’t find either of those situations funny, do you?
