They are the attorneys who step up to defeat School Boards, government social workers, and even state governments when the government wrongfully attacks homeschoolers.
HSLDA also leads efforts to defeat bad legislation put forth by anti-homeschooling leftists.
If we had a gun rights group that was as effective as HSLDA is for homeschooling we'd have nationwide, license free, constitutional concealed and open carry.
Prageru.com has all the resources you need. Includes: 5 min educational videos.
I had some source for History, mainly it was Constitution based, but I can’t remember where I got it.
Might have been kid books I found. Back then, they existed!
Our state department of education has a list of resources for homeschooling in New Hampshire here
Look for groups that organize field trips. They are a great way for homeschool kids to meet other kids with similar interests, and for parents to meet other homeschool families in the area. Some museums and parks offer special programs for homeschoolers, and some local groups organize field trips in their area.
Depends on whether you are the bullied or the bully.
If the bully cannot physically bully someone, they will do it verbally, as we have seen here.
The bullies are generally the ones who want you to send them new kids to bully. They get off on it and so will try to bully you into complying.
Absolutely.
We joined HSLDA before sending in our letter of intent. We lived in NY at the time and it was not a homeschool friendly state, although it did vary quite a bit by district.
We were on good terms with the superintendent because they knew that we were actually homeschooling the kids and it showed.
Best advice... Explain to them they have to accommodate you with BOOKS or PRINTED OUT PAPER...
DO NOT AGREE TO ONLINE ANYTHING PERIOD.
Been there! :)
Ok my friend... I have to ask why? :)
I appreciate what our state government has been doing lately.
I understand there is talk about Gov Sununu making a senate run, but I’d rather have him as governor.
If he runs for the Senate, either he will lose because of fraud, or be useless because we do not have a republican majority in the senate.
I don’t see the democrats giving up control of the federal government without “persuasion”.
I know some Granite Staters have complaints about him but considering some of the legislation he has vetoed in the past, and some he has recently signed into law, I am not complaining.
Having come from the People’s Republic of NY, I know what it’s like to live under a fully dem run state government and losing a Republican governor would not end well for the state here.
According to some people, they are better and are more original to John Saxon’s versions, of which there were a few. He died in 1996 but the books have lived on and now, https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saxon_math
There is a wikipedia section called “relationship to Common Core. That ought to give you some idea.
Here’s John Saxon’s wiki page, for what it’s worth these days; https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Saxon_(educator)
Most homeschoolers do NOT want to use the PC liberal indoctrination that public schools use.
Nor do they want to be that answerable to them.
Your kids deserve better than that.
What is wrong with online courses anyway?
I would not use it, but it works for some.
I can share that I went through a 4 month spell as the “got nothing better to do” patriarch Grandpa during the first lock down and had to go and bounce from household to household to keep the family up and going and employed so that hey did not lose their homes.
I was dealing with online instruction from their schools through “Google classroom” And it was totally dysfunctional. Spent many hours on the phone with their teachers showing them screenshots of what the kids were getting on their end compared to what they “thought” the kids were getting.
11 Grandkids, from high school to preschool...
Even the teachers themselves could not believe what was spitting out at the other end to the kids compared o what they had “assigned”. Fortunately we are a very Conservative county and municipality. So they did not argue and agreed with the evidence I presented.
Trust me... It is a mess. Make them do it hard copy...
OK. I see the problem.
You were doing online instruction provided by their own public schools.
No wonder it was such a mess.
There are other online curricula that are not public school disasters.
People should go with some other curriculum provider for homeschooling kids. Do NOT depend on public school directed or provided online material.
Ok... Thank you man... I will dig and learn. :)
I has to be approved curriculum by the local district school board or your kids do not get any credit for work done. Which then affects their standing with the state you are in. It can even be claimed as AOWL against your kids and the government can come take them away.
Vaxxed or unvaxxed? Unvaxxed? Then even all the correct answers to the approved curriculum will not give them credit.
See... It is using our children as a tool of extortion...
STAND STRONG AND MAKE THEM DO IT ALL ON PAPER. Digital can be deleted far too easy...
Doesn't even have to have those view points.
The bully just has to claim they do.
Not nearly as satirical as you would like.
Welcome to the hell called Public School.
Kids don’t need credit for work done.
My oldest went to a big name university on her homeschool transcript, and entered in their honors program.
Most universities have homeschool liasons.
If someone wants to homeschool their kids, you simply notify the school district that you are doing it and that’s that. They are not AWOL.
And if you are concerned about legal ramifications, that’s what joining HSLDA is for.
It appears you are unaware of how homeschooling works in most states.
we love homeschooling. had to transition after our Christian private school closed. surprisingly it was fairly easy to start our home school even in cali.
we have been using A.C.E School of Learning, program (curriculum) coupled with Lighthouse Christian Academy to support record keeping for our kids each year. over 5500 students enrolled around the world. it touts itself as a school accelerated Christian education.
it’s been great for us. in particular our children really need to be off the computer (zoom school was a disaster for them) to learn effectively and they have traditional resources like what they call a “pace” which are bite sized units in booklet form that take about 3 weeks in each subject.

I heard of Ace and some people liked it a lot.
you can augment the curriculum yourself. the Bible teaching is solid. it’s not too dry and overwhelming on the content side, because of the booklet reader form. they support you with standardized testing (Iowa). and it’s good especially if you don’t want to do everything yourself :).
