It is true that I have not had a graduate-level course in molecular genetics for a very long time. However, a person really doesn’t have to be a genius to understand the CDC when they say that they are unable to distinguish between ‘rona and flu.
Nor does a person need a PhD in head-shrinking to see when a mediocre intellect is trying to substitute abuse for rational argument.

Maybe you took your course in molecular genetics before sequencing was developed. But wouldn't the sequences done by the CDC pretty definitively identify COVID-19 vs. an influenza virus?
