Indeed. Reagan sent marines to Lebanon, but he also pulled them out as soon as he saw what a mess it was.
Most other presidents would have made the wrong choice, doubled down on our involvement, and got us stuck for decades.
I think Trump’s foreign policy is easily the best of the U.S presidents in my life time*.

Did he dismantle all military bases from middle-east? Not that I am aware of. I recall Marines were attacked in Lebanon during his 8 years.
