I'm all for criticizing wealthy pro athletes when they are out-of-touch with the fans, but I think this writer is stretching the point.

Those right wing extremist Phillies have delusions that they own their own bodies.

They need to learn they are slaves.

Sports writers are part of the MSM. Fans, players, owners don’t matter. Everything is drafted to support the establishment narrative.

These are wealthy pro athletes that are out of touch with the game. When you see a team with a team batting average of ,237, an on base percentage of .316, no one on the team hitting over .291, and a team ERA of 4.39 with a half game over .500, you are not going to find a player there that is anywhere close to the worth for the money they are getting as only six people that have played for them this year have a salary under $1M. which includes all the people replacing hurt ones and the regular rotation folks that moved from AAA briefly to roster up particular needs of the big club.

The highest paid is Bryce Harper who is currently hitting .290 with 23 hr and 53 rbi’s. His salary is at $25.5 million before incentives, a year.

Their best pitcher, Zack Wheeler, is one game over .500 and has the most wins on the staff at 10 . He makes a little over $22 million before incentives.

They have a team fielding percentage of .983 which plces them 11th of the 15 national league teams.

This isn’t a baseball team. They’re scam artist draining the public’s pockets with media hypes and gimmicks. And about the onlk thing that can be positive is there are worse teams. Not many, but some.

Neither, according to the Ken Burns’ series, did the Philadelphia A’s.

Marcus Hayes has always been a complete lefty douche. The “vaccine” angle is an asinine argument but I agree the Harper bonanza was a complete gimmick. They are far from smelling the playoffs anytime soon.

The Milwaukee Brewers are well over the mlb mandate for vaccination percentage and spent most of late July to mid august scrambling for players because their roster was decimated by vaccinated players who tested positive for covid. Didn’t keep them from winning…next man up and lead NL Central.

This guys whole premise is pathetic, but then completely expected from a jack ass philly writer.
