Life is like a roll of toilet paper. The closer you get to the end, the faster it goes.
especially when you spend more time in the bathroom vs. the kitchen;)
Might want to add 88 year-old Willie Nelson to the list.
Willie’s drug of choice is marijuana, he’s still alive. His best friend Waylon’s drug of choice was cocaine. Waylon died a long time ago.
And ignore the fake news.
You are just asking to be “fact-checked” aren’t you. Stay safe out there.
:-)
Jesse Owens, 67, Arthur Ashe 49, Jim Fixx 52...
George Burns 100, Bob Hope 100, Winston Churchill 90...
Not that I argue with your point at all, but I think a LOT of people will argue that Pele’ was the greatest soccer player ever. He’s still living, 80 years old.
Winston is a brand name invented by RJ Reynolds in the 50’s.
And cigarettes will kill the idiots who smoke them.
And cigarettes will kill the idiots who smoke them.
..........................................
I never tire of watching the facial expressions on people called “Foodies” when I tell them there’s a problem to consider regarding food: It will kill you!
Also Jim Fixx, famous author of a best selling book about running, died of a heart attack at 52
And breathing is slowing killing. Every one you take is one less from your total.
A small percentage, yes. I’m at anti-smoking as the next guy but I have to admit that after doing a lot of research it turns out that cigarette smoking is not as deadly as we’ve been made to believe. Just as covid-19 is not as deadly as a lot of Karen’s out there think it is.
Pun-intended.
The brand is named after the town where R. J. Reynolds started his business which is Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
Winston-Salem NC
Winston, founded in 1849 as the county seat, was named in 1851 for Major Joseph Winston, a Revolutionary War hero.
Salem (from the Hebrew shalom, meaning “peace”) was laid out in 1766 by Moravian colonists in the center of their Wachovia land tract; it was incorporated in 1856, when the land was sold to outsiders.
This is tobacco growing country
Or, it could just affect some people differently. Some people get lung cancer and die having never smoked. Some people smoke and don't get lung cancer. Life is like a lottery sometimes.
Yep. And the science is very clear. Secondhand smoke is very deadly - to cats.
I worked with a group of lung doctors for a while. Every afternoon, one of them, with an office next to mine, would call patients to inform them the lung cancer/emphysema/COPD tests were positive. 99% were old, idiotic smokers.
Invariably the doctor would hang up and mumble, “It’s not my fault you smoked for 30 years”
It’s true not all smokers die from smoking, but a high percentage do.
I don’t personally tell people not to smoke. Their stupidity is not my problem.
