About 10 years ago I saw a remarkable video. I had a private meeting with a guy who was some kind of producer and he showed it to me at his home. He had the video of Nixon practicing his resignation speech. A one of a kind piece of history.

The 25th Amendment was the first time the Constitution explicitly stated that when the President died, resigned or was removed from office, the Vice President became President. Ever since Tyler took over after William Henry Harrison's death and insisted that he was now the President, that was the de facto practice, but some thought that Tyler was just "Acting President."

If Harris takes over and dies before a new VP is confirmed, Pelosi would be in charge--but as "Acting President." Would she have the power to name a new VP? I think there is some ambiguity in the Constitution.
