ABC reports: A new report from California finds that COVID-19 hospitalizations and deaths continue to be far more common in unvaccinated people than those who got the shots. Infections tended to be more common and more severe in unvaccinated people, the report concluded. People who were unvaccinated were nearly five times more likely to be infected and 29 times more likely to be hospitalized. But the report also found about 12% of the infected people who were hospitalized and about 12% who died were fully vaccinated. The L.A. County report – which the CDC released on Tuesday – found fully vaccinated people who died after infection tended to be older and more frail than the unvaccinated people who died. The median age of the vaccinated people who died was 78, compared with 63 for the unvaccinated people. Also, one quarter of the 24 fully vaccinated people who died had weakened immune systems.

Arkansas doesn’t have any intensive care unit beds available for COVID-19 patients as the state’s coronavirus cases continue to surge, Gov. Asa Hutchinson announced Tuesday. Hutchinson says it’s the first time since the coronavirus pandemic began that no ICU beds were available for COVID-19 patients. Virus patients make up about half of the state’s ICU beds. The number of virus patients in ICUs and on ventilators reached a new high in the state on Monday.

A spokesman for independent Sen. Angus King (Maine) says the senator is feeling better as he recovers from the coronavirus. The 77-year-old King announced Aug. 19 he had tested positive for the coronavirus. King was vaccinated for the disease earlier this year.

France's Haute Autorite de Sante (HAS) health watchdog said on Tuesday it recommended a COVID-19 vaccine booster shot for those aged 65 and over and for those with existing medical conditions that could put at them serious harm from COVID. These COVID vaccine booster shots should be rolled out from the end of October onwards.

We count people as either fully vaccinated or not fully vaccinated. There has been a huge increase of people getting vaccinated and coming in sick as delta has an R0 > 8

A such if you get vaccinated today and sick in two days you are not considered vaccinated. It does not work overnight. Actually immunity starts to develop around day 7 and you are full vaccinated at around day 35 (7 days past the second vaccine)

Today, August 23, 2021, the FDA approved the Pfizer COVID19 vaccine in spite of the following issues:

1. The vaccines are more likely to kill you than save you. The clinical trial (gold-standard medical research) evidence to date shows the vaccine kills more people than it saves (including Pfizer’s own 6 month randomized study which demonstrated a 7% higher overall death rate for those administered the vaccine. The vaccine reduced COVID deaths by 50%, however this came at the cost of increasing deaths from cardiac arrest and other causes, so that the net benefit is negative, i.e., the vaccine is more likely to kill you than save you. For example, Pfizer’s own study showed deaths from COVID were reduced by a factor of 2, but this saving was more than offset by deaths from cardiac arrest which went up by 4X. This is not a good tradeoff. The safety data in VAERS compared with the CDC data on mortality for different age cohorts also confirms that the vaccines are more likely to harm than help.

Yes. That allows them to conceal the numbers of 1 dose people becoming ill and blame everything on the ‘evil’ unvaccinated.
Before this new round of what is likely ADE arrived, they did quote 1 dose people separate from ‘unvaccinated’. They will do anything to the numbers, including flat out lie, to make the ‘narrative’ go their way. :/

IF you don’t mind, I’m dragging this hear from an earlier thread to hopefully get replies. Slightly edited —

What with Pfizer being the only vaccine available for the 12-18 group at present:

Is there any info. out there regarding Pfizer’s efficacy against infection for those under 18? At present it is the only vacc being given to that group — I’m not sure how far off Moderna or J & J might be.

I’ve also not seen any comparison between the two type of asymptomatic infectees:

The first type are those temporarily asymptomatic on the way to becoming symptomatic. It appears this group has a couple days of very high shedding (esp. with Delta) prior to symptoms developing. In most cases, unless they are traced from their exposure contact, they go about as usual those couple days, infecting others or even many others.

The other (larger) group remains asymptomatic throughout, and I believe there is still a question about how much spreading they do? (I’m guessing that would depend on the viral loads developed and other, harder to pin down factors, like sneezing from allergies.)

I was watching a long TV interview with a doc in this region (mid-south USA) and while much of what he said paralleled what I’ve been hearing from other sources in the region, and elsewhere, one thing really bothered me: He stated that they were not admitting patients unless their O2 level was below 90. So, in other words, one has to have a case of Covid that has a pretty good chance of going quite badly (if it has not already) before one gets admitted? An O2 level of 90 is also well below the level where monoclonal antibodies are useful, in fact, at 90 they likely do moe harm than good.

What the doctor did NOT say, and nor was he asked, was what the other requirements for getting monoclonal antibody treatment are (over 65, risk factors, etc.), and what options there are in the region to get them? Confusion on this issue has killed at least one person I know of. Yet for some people lucky enough to receive them, they have been lifesavers...

How much public education and discussion are other FReepers seeing in their areas?

Yes, there are several animal reservoirs for the virus. A news report a few weeks ago said that a third of the whitetail deer in the NE that were tested, had antibodies.
