From what I have been reading I gather that the shot is specific and that it literally destroys the natural immune system. And since it is so specific it doesn’t adapt to mutations, plus since it rendered the natural system impotent it actually helps the mutation to go unchecked.

What you wrote seems to be indicative of the two-shot mRNA vaccines. But it appears that the J&J one-shot vaccine has reasonable efficacy against delta (although there doesn’t appear to be a test that can detect “delta”).
