If this stuff about bases as collateral really is in the contracts, that’s kind of a smoking gun.
You would think it would be the kind of stuff that gets people really mad. The kind of mad where any executive or government agent involved in making these contracts cannot leave their compound for fear of a mob descending on them and dragging them off to be hung from a lamp post. Or worse.

I’m not buying this “collateral” story.
From what I’ve read, Baghram and all the equipment had already been officially signed over to the Afghan military. They are the ones who abandoned all that gear when they cut and ran.
Of course I could be wrong and am open to sourced info.
