Long time since we left, but used to live in Illinois just South of the Wisconsin border.
Nice people, but I always had the feeling that the whole state was running 10 degrees out of plumb except for Madison/University of Wisconsin which would tip over too often to bother quoting a number.
Sauce for my low opinion? How about a note about US Senators from Wisconsin including Joe McCarthy immediately followed by William Proxmire. (Don't have any comment on McCarthy but thoroughly loathe Proxmire)
I have always said there is a lot of differences between a Northern conservative compared to a Southern Bible belt back in the hills conservative. I know there are both in both places but even though she’s a Trump supporting Republican she is more tolerant of gay rights, transgenders, etc. than what we are here. That’s why I say she’s conservative but not Free Republic grade conservative. I’m sure it’s miserable being conservative in a blue state. I have another friend in WA and she hates it. She says it’s nothing but liberal trash. She loves the state but not most of the people except for her conservative friends. Still, our ways down South seem odd to her but she loves it here. If it were not for the heat, bugs, snakes, spiders, tornadoes, etc. they would move here in a heartbeat.
Moar sauce on Illinois....During the epic dem meltdown here in WI during Gov.Walker’s ACT 10 passage....dem legislators fled to Rockford,Illinois just near the border, to hide from their responsibility to be in session to witness the passage of ACT 10.
