Patagonia, the iconic sportswear company that’s built a worldwide reputation on outdoor athleticism and environmental activism, will no longer supply Jackson Hole Mountain Resort with its products after a resort owner hosted a fundraiser for the right-wing House Freedom Caucus.

Patagonia has been woke for a long time. I’m sorry they are because their clothes are quality for people that hike or spend time out in the open.
That said I don’t spend time outside like I used to. I’ve found lower quality knockoffs that work for me.
This is an opportunity for someone else. I was going to say Cabela’s but they have a black girl dressed in hunting gear on their front page, don’t know where their heads are at these days.
Here’s the problem. The press paints the freedom caucus as “FAR RIGHT” that they now define as white supremist. WE have to figure a way to redefine who we are.
Oooohhh...Patagonia is scaring me. Guess I won’t buy any of their high priced teal colored clothes no more.
Nope.
They make high quality stuff. Maybe North Face isn’t lib?…
There is a LOT of money in Jackson Hole. My grandson's dad has worked there as a chef during the past two summers. I'm sure he's paid well, it's likely to be an annual event for him.
Years ago I remember reading about them and how they would not let employees bring meat to work, would fire them if they brought meat to eat at work. I’ve never actually bought from them since that article
Dammit! I like their ski clothing and not because of their environmentalism - they advertise it and good on ‘em but never thought they had it in my face - I guess I bought my last Patagonia product last season....
That’s fine. I will dump Patagonia.
It was the “Freedom” part that they didn’t like.
Was, but not now.
From their website...
“Back in November 2017, a group of Patagonia employees and friends from around the country came together in Yosemite National Park to have some important and difficult conversations about diversity, equity and inclusion.”
North Face is woke also.
I have some Patagonia gear. They make some good mountaineering clothing.
Been buying Outdoor Research and Arcteryx last few years.
Arcteryx is unbelievably expensive, last a long time, and has the best warranty in the market.
So tolerant and inclusive of them.
Ding, ding, ding - we have a thread winnah!
Meh
Back in the late 60s and early 70s Yvon Chouinard was a real name in high wall climbing, his pitons and other rock gear were the gold standard. I had a lot of it.
Then he found out that selling trendy clothing to gopniks made more $$$ with less chance of being sued.
Now, IMO, just another place selling crap Chinese logowear fleece. Has been for a very long time.
North Face is owned by VF Copr - that also owns Dickies and several other clothing brands.
And Jackson Hole instantly smells better.
A-hole Leaves J-Hole
It's a trendy, money-oriented, style-over-performance focused company, very heavy on environmental virtue signaling too.
The founder is butt-buddies with John F'n Kerry.
“..because their clothes are quality for people that hike or spend time out in the open..”
Carhartt.
