What foods did you cut out?

Soda pop (which I didn’t drink much of, so it was easy to stop). If I’m somewhere that only has pop, then I’ll drink it.

Sweet tea is maybe once a week, if that, whereas it was maybe 5 or 6 times/week before becoming a truck driver.

Probably cut snack chips in half. Almost eliminated the greasy potato chips entirely. The wife and I liked Sterzing potato chips (Burlington, IA) so much! They are the best! But we reserved them for a guilty treat maybe once a week. Haven’t looked for a replacement to them since moving to TN 4 1/2 yrs ago.

Anything deep fried took a big cut. After discovering truck driving put me at a lot of stops that really put out the fatty foods, I would do things like remove the skin on fried chicken. The Pilots and Flying Js put out some really greasy pizza. I rarely get a piece of it. I have been to some fuel stop/fast food stores that have a deep fried BUFFET. The last place a truck driver should eat!

I really upped my veggie intake. I had been mostly a meat and potatoes guy for so long, it was a big adjustment.

Desserts/sweets were not as easy to cut (my wife is a fabulous cook. But she always was good at regulating that, so she wouldn’t have to bake all of the time.

Exercise is key though. It’s easy to put off, because ‘I don’t have the time’. That is almost always a poor excuse. If I have time to look at the internet, I have time to exercise.
