it has a video

“Defense Secretary Austin looks completely stunned when a reporter asks “It sounds like you’re saying this depends on diplomacy with the Taliban. That’s it.”

General Milley interrupts, noting that the State Department has sent messages urging people to go to the airport.”

I saw him yesterday...he didn’t really answer questions - he just kept repeating slogans.

Fairly disturbing!

But he’s ‘diverse’, so he’s got that going for him.

The situation is this:

We have been at war for twenty years that the Taliban started with a successful attack on the Trade Center in 2001. The Taliban has won the war and we are the defeated with 15,000 of our citizens behind the Taliban lines.

We have no say as to who can cross the lines to get to the airport to be evacuated out. The Taliban has all the cards. We have to ask them what they need from us to let our people out.

Our only choices are to pay the price that they set to get our people out, abandon our people there, or start a new war that I predict will last twenty years before we lose again.

Whatever happens, a lot of people are going to die.
