Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signalled Tuesday that the Peach State would accept Afghan refugees in the wake of the Taliban seizing power of the Middle Eastern country following the Biden administration’s withdrawal of U.S. forces.
“Joe Biden’s failure to protect American citizens and our allies in Afghanistan is a stain on our nation. His administration’s lack of preparation and disastrous evacuation is now putting countless lives in serious danger from the Taliban,” Kemp said in a statement obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

So, while all of that is happening, all the terrorists that were in the prison at Bagram Air Base are now free to roam Afghanistan. Nothing to see here, move along.

We need to know details. How many is he willing to take? A few hundred seems like a nice gesture. Is pressure being applied to him and other governors to take them in? Does he actually have a choice? How will he or someone screen out the bad guys? How will he or someone choose people that are healthy and employable? How do the Georgia citizens fit into the picture? Will Georgia get a gob of federal money for each refugee they accept?
Over the time that I’ve been on this site, I’ve had a few ‘scraps’ with folks. Never have taken any of it personally. Hell, just got into one earlier today.
That being said, I like 100s of thousands after me, have been to that country. I was there in ‘02-03. Didn’t do anything as it was winter in the northern part of the country and there really is such a thing as the “fighting season” and I wasn’t there during it. That’s a kind of cold I never experienced before.

Way too many people in this country think that the rest of the world is like Main St USA. IT IS NOT.
As President Trump said many times in an effort to end these ridiculous policies, find a place close to their homeland. The US will help in any way and I’d be perfectly ok with some tax money headed to wherever that is. Cheaper to feed and house them there, than here. Any Peace Corps do-gooders want to go there and teach them to read and write, have at it.

Agree but Kemp didn’t specify. He’s willing to take general refugees. We should ONLY bring “terps” and their immediate families if known by our soldiers.
Here is a snippet from a crime committed by exotic refugees offering translations in war zones etc...one of these five was supported by a US serviceman who even appeared on the Oprah Winfrey show supporting the guy who went on to commit a violent rape.
