Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp signalled Tuesday that the Peach State would accept Afghan refugees in the wake of the Taliban seizing power of the Middle Eastern country following the Biden administration’s withdrawal of U.S. forces.
“Joe Biden’s failure to protect American citizens and our allies in Afghanistan is a stain on our nation. His administration’s lack of preparation and disastrous evacuation is now putting countless lives in serious danger from the Taliban,” Kemp said in a statement obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

I'm guessing because he knows that he might be losing pretty soon, that he's setting the state up for more failure and higher taxes.
Just think, Georgia or any other state that accepts these 12th Century savages is going to have to put the kids in school. What dat mean? Property tax increases to go with the ones that we're already getting and, more importantly, finding folks to teach that can speak the language.

He wants to bring in illiterate, in their own language, people where saying they're 'unskilled workers' does an injustice to 'unskilled workers'.
These people are considered the lowest of the low in the Muslim world. They will not fit in anywhere. They will find their own community and hunker down. Living off the taxpayers and be ripe for radicalization.
Then again, the writing has been on the wall for quite some time. When President Trump tried to get rid of the refugee resettlement nonsense he was blocked. So, being the very skilled executive that he is, he was able to figure out a way to make it optional. Even down to the county level, if I'm not mistaken. Of course, good ol' boy Brian Kemp didn't take him up on that offer. Instead he continued to take in more 3rd world ugly. Anyone that has been to or through Clarkston, knows exactly what I mean.
Any taxpayers in those two places should bang the For Sale sign in the ground today.
But, it would be poetic justice if I were Governor tomorrow so I could let a few in and make all the folks in Virginia Highlands, Morningside, Emory, City of Decatur, Inman Park and a few pockets of liberals in the 6th district take them all in. One can hope.

I think many of those fleeing would fit right in. Lots of young males who have a great deal to fear from the Taliban and rooftops.

Would add that just from what we in the public know it is entirely possible to conclude very powerful people have evidence that seriously compromises Kemp. He can’t be sleeping well at night.

He’s way past being a RINO. I thinking that he knows he’s a one term Governor, whether it be Jones, in the primary, or someone else that beats him.
Only two Republicans I’m voting for this year are Jones, unless someone else with potential also joins the Republican race, and Jody Hice for SOS. Outside of that, not one will get my vote.
If that ushers in Abrams or some other Democrat, so be it.
Kemp, Duncan, Raffensberger, Carr, Miller, Ralston and the Georgia GOP, decided last November and January that they don’t care and completely sold out. I’m done with them and the fat frat boys in the Georgia legislature.
