Tempers flared during a Charleston, South Carolina, city council meeting Tuesday that resulted in a failure to pass an ordinance that would have mandated masks inside the city’s schools.

The discussed measure would have required adults and children over the age of 2 to wear masks “in all public facilities, including public schools, private schools and daycares,” The Charleston Post and Courier reported.

Councilman Harry Griffin decried the way the speakers behaved, saying that he was “totally embarrassed at how out of control things got.”

“I’ve never been more ashamed than I am right now,” Griffin explained.

There should be people standing at the entrances of these school board meetings and inside, with clipboards and getting signatures for the recall effort for all of these school board members and city/town councils

Get out of large urban areas as quickly as possible.

They are imploding exponentially.

Maskmandatinistas…

I’ve seen one call it tyranny to not mandate masks!

Talk about being clueless.

Apparently, he doesn’t have children, and has not read the latest studies that show dramatic lowering of children’s IQs since the pandemic. Which I believe is completely related to mask wearing and children not being able to read facial expressions.

Here’s a thought, Harry, stop doing things which anger the taxpayers.

But, there’s a problem with that. Who lives in large, or not so large, urban areas?

In Charleston, it’s LIBERALs and hoodrats. I want neither living anywhere near me.

How about we put up walls around them and force all of them to live with the consequences of their decisions and ideology?

And we’ve never been more sick and tired of little dictators like you, Harry. GFY

“ Can we give y’all some advice, since you wanna dictate and mandate things for us?,” a woman wearing a tank with the American flag on it said. “There’s four vaccines, go get all of them and go take all thirty-three boosters. And then … put thirty-three masks on your face. And if that does not work, stay home for six hundred and sixty-six days!””

Priceless! 😆👍🏻

Yes, but suburbs have become urbanized over the last 20-30 years. Growth always brings problems.

Don’t miss the place at all.

Exactly correct. These little tin horn dictators need to be put on notice that they are going to be fired with extreme prejudice. They have been riding the gravy train for too long and that it’s time for them to be removed.

Over 200 outside the BOE meeting in my rural Maryland county.

Loud and angry. The School Board doesn’t care about the citizens or the children.

Some Karen teacher just threatened to turn a candidate into the FBI for daring to attend a rally in January.

Using a disposable muzzle...er, facemask to prevent the person to person transmission of an airborne respiratory virus is like using chicken wire to keep out mosquitos.

CoupFlu has NEVER been about public health.

This policy stands no chance of working. Ultimately will get struck down by courts. Until then it will be a slow-motion disaster to watch. Glad I don’t live there!

I’m the same way with Atlanta. I’ve had to go there twice in the last month. Can feel the tension in my chest driving there. Not out of fear. Just at the sheer stupidity of the place and the fact that those that can, will soon be moving out and potentially ending up where I live. Only to bring their liberal BS with them.

Tourism is a major source of revenue in the Holy City, Charleston, SC. Masking is already stupid; it would be MORE so given the inconvenience that it would cause tourists.
Let them decide for themselves.
