THANK YOU President Trump for ending this costly 20 year war
FreeRepublic ^ | Aug 16 | RandFan

Trump deserves enormous credit for ending the war in Afghanistan something Barack “surge” Obama couldn’t do as he was a useful puppet to the Military Industrial Complex.

President Trump had the courage to negotiate with the Taliban and agreed a deal to get all troops out by the end of 2020 only for the neocons like Liz Cheney teaming up with Democrats in the House to stop it and punt it until well into 2021 (i.e now).

To the tough guy neocons on both sides: Accept this. To the generals who don’t have a clue and think every country wants a Western style democracy (or Republic?) Wake up and stop doing the bidding of the Military Industrial Complex. Your treachery and lies will be revealed in good time.

This is a great day and victory for taxpayers. Tens of billions of dollars will no longer be shipped to that sh*thole every year.

With this war ended a vast gravy train has also ended and no more blood and treasure will be spilt in this godforsaken land (of ours at least).

Every cloud ….

Trump was getting ready to leave the *right* way. His ‘secret negotiations’ with the taliban were him telling them that if they did something stupid as the US forces were withdrawing or after, he would send the Air Force back and bomb them into oblivion. Those were his conditions.

That argument i.e the regime is brutal to civilians or women can be made for about half the countries on the planet. Many with tacit Western support.

Not really our business

It’s reasonably obvious that you never risked your skin for our country, did you? A whole lot of great young people did in Afghanistan and you haven’t asked then how they feel about “cutting and running” - again.

How many allies do you think will trust us from here on?

Have they done anything stupid? A few chaotic scenes at the airport. The handover has been mostly peaceful. The president Ghani has left (with suitcases full of dollars, ironically enough).

Yes, thank you, President Trump, for finally getting us out of Trashcanistan!

Now, thanks to Selected Biden failure to simply plan we are in a mess. Biden owns this.

Thanks to Biden the US military is fleeing Afghanistan past ginormous piles of its mysteriously unused weapons and equipment while screaming like a girl with its whitey-tighties wedged up over its head.

I blame the U.S. military for the messy withdrawal more than Biden. Why?

Because the military often ignored Trump. They resisted his planned draw down of forces overseas. They refused to quell the BLM/Antifa rioters in DC. Which proves that the military is part of the Deep State, with its own policies.

I doubt that Biden had any say in the military's plans for how to withdraw from Afghanistan.

Our military is led by woke incompetants, political hacks, and opportunists eager to retire and land a job as a lobbyist for a weapons manufacturer.

The stupid thing is assuming control of Afghanistan and forcing a democratically elected govt to run.

That would have never happened under a Trump negotiated withdrawal.

I do agree that if Trump was still in charge it would have been handled better.

It probably would have been done around May 1st. It was Biden and whoever is in charge who put it back to now breaking the agreement and putting lives at risk.

These are hard Corp Muslim fundamentalists. They will be figuring out how to spread terror around the world. China is now telling Taiwan that Taiwan cannot depend on America, Hong Kong protesters are getting the same message.

"“Helping Afghanistan become self-sustaining is going to be a monumental task. It's going to take up to a decade, and more blood will be spilled and more treasure will be spent. But I think it's important” - Joe Biden, 2008"

But according to Joe's teleprompter today, he was against it all along! If only we listened to him!!! I wonder how much his family profited the last 20 years off our blood and treasure?

Probably come in through the southern border which is wide open.

With the major heroin export money and the deals on natural resources with the Chinese, the Taliban will be loaded. They could buy one or two of the better armed cartels and cross the border in the cartel’s plentiful armored vehicles with heavy weapons mounted. The BP would be blown aside.

There would be no stopping them until the Milley Military got around to deploying an armored division, after the troops had been fully vaccinated, properly masked along with certificates showing they had passed CRT and other mission necessary woke classes ; warm milk, safe rooms, and petting puppies would be deployed for the over-stressed among them, along with the pride marching bands sent in to entertain the poor lads.

With that logic I have to agree with you. We know that the deep state never let President Trump get full control of the federal bureaucracy or the military. Our government bureaucracy has gone rogue needs to be tamed by mass firings. A vicious case of herpes is easier to get rid of than federal government employees.

Every president should be able to fire 200,000 federal bureaucrats every year for no reason at all - Buh-bye. With laws concerning the firing of federal employees being the way they are now the president is no longer an executive because he can no longer control the bureaucrats of their administrations.

No, not according to Pompeo. He was fairly adamant about that.

You’re not “conservatives” - you’re wussies.

Please! Don’t be so offensive to wussies. The ‘neoisolationist/military service-avoiding nonfighters’ have no idea what they are getting. Unfortunately, to get their wish, we have to pay the price along with them.

No, they didn't. They suffered -- some losing limbs, eyesight, and lives -- for nothing. They were lied to, and used, by Neocons.

I feel sorry for those young Americans who became canon fodder for Neocon fantasies. These Neocons went to Ivy League schools, found cushy jobs in think tanks, government, and media outlets, then used their influence to start pointless, unwinnable wars.

The rich, Ivy educated Neocons didn't fight. They wrote opinions pieces, sold books, had cool media jobs. They sent poor working class folk to fight and die in their wars. While they pontificated on cable TV.

Didn't you see Bill Kristol's vile remarks a few years back? He said that "lazy, spoiled" white working class Americans should be replaced with New Americans. That's what Neocon Kristol thinks of those working class Americans who fought his wars.

Here's Kristol's remarks: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lhg9dnpSL4I

I feel sorry for all the young Americans who were killed or maimed overseas for no good reason. And I detest the Neocons who sent them there.

America First!

The president Ghani has left (with suitcases full of dollars, ironically enough).

And this is the "brave leader of Free Afghanistan" that American troops are supposed to protect.

Not exactly Winston Churchill.

Good point. Those of us who have taken the defense of our county on know what has to be done. We’ll leave the bed wetting to the whiners, as always.
