We lost so many great soldiers over there. But it was not for nothing. We have many soldiers who now have combat experience and important life experiences due to their service in Afghanistan. We should never have been there for more than the first six months after sweeping the Taliban out quickly. If we had left then we would have been the only country to go in there, kick teeth out, and leave with just a few hundred losses.
