I miss him every day.
For years I dreaded the day Rush would step away...just go play golf and enjoy his life without the daily grind of a radio show. Never occurred to me that he’d leave us the way he did :(
I can’t listen to any talk radio anymore since Rush
Anybody up for a seance? (just kidding folks)
Yes, Rush was a very special man.
I miss him too, but life and out struggle have to go on and we need to give the new guys a chance. Still, I’d say Rush would be going on strong with all these stories happening. Rush said that before the first Gulf War, August has always been a slow news month but not anymore. I think Buck and Clay are doing a good job so far. I have to remember that they are not Rush and cannot replace him. Rush was Rush, no one can fill his shoes. It is much the same as Art Bell, there was only one Art Bell. In the pecking order of things, I’d say right now, Glenn Beck is #1 followed closely by Sean Hannity in #2 although some say you can switch them around. Levin is #3 and Buck and Clay are in cleanup. Being #4 in my mind is not a demotion, just a position to see who things develop, #4 is an important position too. Another host I like is Jesse Kelly. I think if Rush was here, he’d have a roaring good time with the Cuomo affair, song parodies and the like.
I cry every time I think of how much I miss Rush. It just seems so damned wrong.
I haven’t turned on the radio since the day he died.
Same.
News?
It’s a Fire Sale!
.
I thought of Rush on
Friday the 13th of course
after hearing
“Mambo #5.”
.
RIP.
Rush is truly missed. He would have put this Afghanistan debacle in perspective and inject some lighthearted humor to it. None of the current conservative radio hosts can do that. That said, I’m enjoying listening to Glenn Beck now and also Clay and Buck. I tried listening to Dan Bongino but just can’t get into his show. Hannity and Levin have always been a hit and miss for me.
Rush would have been chomping at the bit….and I would have been waiting patiently for that bumper music….just as I did since 1989.
I miss him so much.
I miss Rush every hour of every day....such a loss
It’s rather depressing, isn’t it? No one who makes any sense of this craziness. Leaves me a tad hopeless.
Yes, he is missed, especially in times like this. For anyone awake at 1AM-5AM EDT, Red Eye Radio is a good show, my mom listens all the time.

Looking at the comments we all have varying opinions about the current lineup of conservative radio hosts. Some of us like certain hosts while others think those people are horrible. We’ll all agree to disagree on who currently has the best conservative show on radio, but one thing we can all agree on is that none of them come close to Rush. He was one of a kind and he can never be adequately replaced or duplicated.
So true. Rush would have been on fire tomorrow.
So who’s a decent alternative that doesn’t yell?
Dittos to all who miss him so much. Especially in the Trump era, he had such a unique & insightful perspective & communicated it so well with that golden voice. How many times did I think Trump had messed up irreparably until I heard Rush’s take on it.
A few days after he died I was driving & had Hannity on & he was giving his analysis of some issue & I had the thought “yeah, yeah, but what does Rush think?” - devastating to realize I won’t know again in this life.
God bless Katherine.
It’s a new world.
Radio isn’t the king it was 10 or 20 years ago.
Personally, I like Steve Bannon - good guests, good info.
And Free Republic - this site knocks it out of the park for the very best eclectic coverage.
