SEATTLE (KOMO) β Skyrocketing response times and SPD staffing shortages were the focus of attention at the Seattle City Council Public Safety Committee meeting.
During discussions on the SPD Quarterly Finance and Staffing Report Tuesday, city council addressed SPD staffing levels and reports that response times for certain crimes can take more than 60 minutes to response to.
Seattle Police warned this is exactly what would happen, as response times are getting longer and longer for certain crimes with the mass exodus of nearly 300 officers.
βThis attrition is concerning and when we look at 911 response times as well,β said Councilmember Alex Pedersen.

Where are all the street psychologists being deployed?
You get the government you vote for. Seattle must love crime and homeless people because they are bending over backwards to get more of both.
This is what happens when your ideology has the bad guys as the good guys and the good guys as the bad guys. That’s one of the effects of the LEFT wing mentally disturbed mind. No sympathy here for anyone in Seattle.
Isn’t that what the voters want?
I wonder why? Libtards don’t get the effect part of cause and effect.
They voted for it....
The city council registers all the homeless at the administration building so all their ballots go there. Then the city council votes all those ballots. Even though Seattle voters are largely useful idiots, the homeless have a large control over the city.
Yup
If you are indeed in a dire situation in Seattle, call 911 and say you are a transsexual black person being attacked by a white guy in a MAGA hat and the response time will be under three minutes.
I would think that the social workers could respond much faster than the police.
Much low level crime follows the homeless.
A lot of this will be reduced in winter, when the homeless migrate to warmer places.
What happened to all those ‘social workers’ who were supposed to show up instead? Must be hard finding help that can pass a drug and background check ?
If only because the social workers wouldn’t have their hands cuffed by the politicians.
Not really. Until the voters choose something different, I won’t care. They get what they voted for. At some point, they will connect election choices with real life outcomes and then things can change. I’m assuming many are still in the denial stage.
Seattle is one of the most educated cities in the USA. Goes to show you that book smarts mean very little when it comes to making real life choices. They are morons in that respect. And it is my home town. π
No problem. Just call 1-800-Social Worker.
This is good news for decent people because now they have sixty minutes to defend themselves before the SPD can show up to protect the criminals.
When minutes count, the cops are an hour away! (needed updating).
So how many minutes does your average rape-rape take?
