Confined space rules are written in blood.
This is sad.
Fresh air respirators and/or active ventilation/toxic fume purging required for entry into such confined spaces. Very tragic result from chancing it.
I was thinking the exact same thing. I took hours and hours and hours of confined space training when I was a USCG inspector. We had to inspect cargo tanks and other various things on ships. CO2 lockers are another big hazard on ships. Leaks happen, and the CO2 literally piles up on the deck until it reaches the height of your mouth.
Each CO2 locker needs a kick plate that opens a hole in the door and lets gravity drain the CO2 out of the room.
This is why when people started saying, “CO2 is a greenhouse gas” I just laughed.
Impossible. Heavier than air and essential for phytoplankton and vegetation growth everywhere on the Earth. If it were lighter than O2, the earth would be barren of plant growth, and thus, probably most life beyond microbial.
Confined space rules are written in blood.
That’s the truth.
