So the person with their back to the camera is the under-aged child, and the other one whose face we can see is the long-haired tattoo giver that was arrested. Okay, that makes a difference. So the law in South Carolina is:

Minors under the age of 18 may not get a tattoo without parental consent. SOURCE

But it still does not look like the tattoo is being done on the face, but rather a hand, or perhaps on the arm.

But a least it helps to know who is who, an the child could be as old as 17 years and 11 months old. For all we know the person could be getting a gang tattoo as well.

But it was an incredibly a stupid place to perform an illegal act.

the article headline certainly implies it’s a “child” not a teen. and there is a difference.

“the article headline certainly implies it’s a “child” not a teen. and there is a difference.”

I looked online at a number of articles and never could find an age. So if it is under the age of 18, which renders the responsibility to the child by law in some states, the arrest said nothing and it could be under that which the law in a number of states erases the responsibility of the man doing the tattoo. I guess it rally comes down to the agenda of the writers or the lawmakers. Under 18 can have an abortion by their youthful capacity, but not a tattoo? Me thinks their values are a bit misconstrued.

i did not know that about abortions as i don’t keep up with the stats.
seems odd to me i thought you had to be an adult (18) for that procedure w/o parental consent.

“I thought you had to be an adult (18) for that procedure w/o parental consent.”

Because the U.S. Supreme Court has ruled that states may not give parents an absolute veto over their child’s decision to have an abortion, most state parental involvement requirements include a judicial bypass procedure that allows a minor to receive court approval for an abortion without their parents’ knowledge or consent.

But it can be done. A tattoo? Small potatoes against a human life. I guess the government is trying to take care of the little things better than the big ones.
