My former boss was from South Africa. It took him 20+ years to legally immigrate here and another 10 years to become a citizen. He had to leave South Africa with no more than 2,500 Rand and he had paid immigration lawyers over $70,000 US to get him here legally.
I immigrated here 50 years ago this Friday, August 13th...I would have had to wait much longer to do so but there were extra quota numbers not used and I got one...the US gives every country a certain total of immigrants from there each year...
Millions want to come here from South Africa and other 3rd World countries...New Zealand not so many...
