Is anyone else have multiple issues accessing websites? I cannot access numerous websites from Twitch to my local news stations. A major wind storm just came through the area so I can understand some local sites are down, but not for international sites.
The local storm likely affected your internet service provider (ISP) — their equipment, or the networking/transmission cables. A local storm would have little to no effect on the websites themselves, which are most likely in datacenters far away from the storm area.
Yes, https://www.isitdownrightnow.com/ is a good one for individual site checking.
Also look at https://downdetector.com for major services (like Facebook, Office365, Twitter, etc.)
BTW, to answer your question:
No, the internet is not down, it’s something local to you or your ISP.
No problems here.
The witching hour for switch maintenance. You’ll prolly be good in an hour.
I read where China had hacked Mike
Lindells symposium. Maybe that’s
the cause?
Lot of people shutting down from 1/3 pm today
Ah...that fills in a few of my issues earlier...
Are you logged in?
The situation resolved itself, I am guessing it was the fact that most of the area was still without power.
Try “1.1.1.1” as your DNS server (”network settings”)...your ISP’s default DNS server may be jacked up after the storm/reboot.
Enter “52.32.76.121” in the address bar instead of “Twitch.com” if it works then it is a DNS problem.
Very interesting web site at www.isitdown…! Thanks very much
Another should the first not work:
