A woman drove off a cliff in Santa Cruz after a random person mistakenly opened her door, police said.
The woman was sitting in her parked car in the Santa Cruz Walton Lighthouse parking lot. Police said she was spooked when the person opened her door, which caused her to drive off the cliff.
She suffered an injury to her foot and no major injuries were reported.
Santa Cruz police said this was “truly” an accident.
The person who opened the woman’s door thought they were entering the passenger seat to their car, which was a similar model and color, police said.
The cars were parked next to each other and authorities said the person doesn’t see well at night.
No other details were available.
Ping
Lucky it was not a cliff big enough to be fatal.
Buzz Gunderson was not so lucky
Those two cars don’t look the same now.
Takes a special kind of driver to forget they are parked on the edge of a cliff.
...ever the optimist aren’t you? :>)
I went to pick up my brother at his Doctors a while ago and this woman comes out of the building and got into my car looked at me screamed opened the door and took off back into the building , I looked to my left and her husband was laughing his head off
I always walk on the sunny side of the street. Even at night. :)
How could you do that to her! Try to run off with her like that!. lol
That’s hilarious, runs back into the safe building like it was your fault. lol
What’s the world coming to?
Where’s the “that’ll buff right out” guy?
Note to self: when idling on a cliff, put the car in park.
Lol
If you’re going to drive off a cliff because you think someone’s getting in your car to hurt you, at least wait until they get in so you can take them with you.
.’Police said she was spooked...’
Now that’s racist.
“The Girl Who Got Rattled.”...........
That husband is still laughing about it.
I do that kind of stuff all the time. Endless source of amusement, I am.
If a stranger doesn’t kill you......
