From the article:

Northrop’s legal team represents nearly two-dozen people across the nation whose P320s fired without pulling the trigger. They say Sig Sauer knows about the firearm’s defective design and is being negligent.

I handle these guns on a daily basis, I am skeptical.

Don’t know which gun it was but Sig did release a gun that can fire when it shouldn’t. They have been sued and lost before on this. They hade to update the gun design to fix it.

Not believing this for one second.

I have a P320 and I am totally calling BS on this. There is no touch or ‘brush’ of the gun that can set it off. None. It was also tested by the military after thousands of hours and never was this ‘defect’ discovered.

No idea whether the SIG in question has issues or not, but generally speaking, not every firearm design is without flaws from ‘day one’. Taurua had a major recall of their early striker-fired guns a few years back; even Glock did not achieve their advertised “perfection” with their first gen pistols (which could reportedly fire if ‘frisbeed’ across a room ;^)...

Striker-fired guns make me queasy.

DAO is their only advantage.

I’ll take double-single any day of the week. Yes, the trigger pull is different on subsequent shots, but handguns are not MOA firearms anyway.

If you want DAO, a revolver works, and it only fires when you pull the trigger.

Hmmm, it is possible, I suppose. IMO, it’s about as likely as the gun walking into a mom and pop store and robbing the place all by itself, but it is possible. I just hope the court rules testimony from those given to UFO fantasies inadmissible, else every anti-gun loon in the country will be clamoring to take the stand.

And this is why I never carry locked and loaded unless I am in a possible immediate danger condition. Only takes less than a second to slide one in.

Sear creep as rare as it is, can never be ruled out on certain firearms.

I have a hard time understanding how this is even possible. Well, regardless, I don’t keep one in the chamber so I’m not going to sweat it.

I once walked into a sig saur gun shop, and it was like stepping into downtown Chicago, guns were shooting each other left and right. Must have been gang initiation day in the shop,or something. needless to say I left and found a shop that sold brands that won’t wake up one day, and decide that they don’t like me anymore and do me in for no good reason.

This is why there aren’t any sig saur p320 repair shops. The guns are dropped off, and as soon as the gunsmith turns his back on the gun, whammo, it’s curtains.

“”And the very second I touched the gun, it discharged,”

Yeah.

Right.

Everybody says that.

A decade ago there was a hue and cry against Audi. Allegedly certain models spontaneously accelerated all by themselves, crashing into garage walls, etc. Studies revealed that ownership of the model in question was concentrated in the elderly, who were punching the gas pedal rather than the brake.

I wonder if people are carrying the Sigs in a condition it was not designed for.

This is also what can happen when you modify the trigger to the point that it goes off if you even breathe on it wrong. I have a Sig P365xl that has a good, but very deliberate trigger pull - and a thumb safety.

Couldn't he have used the aremaining cartridge to shoot the P320 out of his own hand?

Problem solved.
