Anyone here who experienced them feels the same way. THEN came the sixties with the burning of bras and draft cards and cities and protests and riots. I think we all knew then those people would go on to run the country...6 o’clock news every night.
I don’t think any of us could name anything like that happening in the fifties. And certainly NOT when the country was at war in the forties..
It is sad and getting worse. I didn’t see this coming. Well, I did, but nowhere this soon. I honestly thought I had a good chance to pass form this earth before things got this bad. Now I wonder how much worse things will get. Time to raise the drawbridge and keep the world on the other side of the moat.

True. But Senator Joe McCarthy got thoroughly cancelled even in 1954, along with anyone to the current day who would suggest there were communists in our government. Baseless charges without evidence they said. Have you no decency, sir? Well, being communist is a state of mind kind of thing. It may be true but it’s hard to prove unless you catch them delivering state secrets to a communist embassy. Senator Joe was right and look at what we have today!
