‘It didn’t have to be like this’: ICU nurse describes toll of treating COVID-19 patients
The Boston Globe ^ | 04 Aug 2021 | Amanda Kaufman

A woman who says she began her career as an intensive care unit nurse months after the COVID-19 pandemic began is speaking out about the toll of learning the job while being inundated with severely sick patients as hospital beds now fill up again....

Kathryn Ivey, who reportedly works in a Nashville, Tenn., hospital, posted a powerful Twitter thread this week describing how her feelings of helplessness in earlier stages of the pandemic have transitioned to anger...

... Ivey’s reflections offer a glimpse into the grief being shouldered by health care workers on the front lines....

“Walking through the much smaller covid unit was like walking through a graveyard,” Ivey wrote.

But now, “it is so much worse, this time,” Ivey continued. “We all have so much less to give. We are still bearing the fresh and heavy grief of the last year and trying to find somewhere to put all this anger. But the patients don’t stop coming. And the anger doesn’t stop coming.”

Ivey described feeling defeated at the same time, like “Nothing we do makes a difference.”

Statements from Need some input concerning using Ivermectin - post 191
we have been thru hell today- after getting approved for the antibody therapy spouse and I were told Thursday. The infusion center then called and said if we wanted to get today to go to emergency. So we go to emergency and they say they will do it. We go back and they do a bunch of tests and because as soo as we got there they automatically put us on oxygen (my oxygen levels ranging between 92 to 94) spouse was 90. The doctor then comes in and says no according to FDA they cannot give it because we have hypoxia and would have had to be 95. THIS IS WHAT I’M DEALING WITH.

both my mom and dad were put into icu. they could not get the therapy. they both have covid pneumonia. my dad was put on a ventilator. and my mom they are trying to get her oxygen levels fixed and under control. she is scared.

I figured out the problem with ivermectin. Besides studies that conflict. Efficacy.

What I mean is, Vaccine A has say, 95% efficacy and Vaccine C has 93% efficacy. But what is ivermectin's?

a study may say, 23% got better than a placebo but doesn't that mean 77% didn't? or if 70% were better in another study, and 30% didn't, does that put it below vaccine efficacy?

ivermectin needs a number

But you can buy a case of Jack Daniels from any store, which can kill you in a New York minute if you chug a couple of bottles...

I have no respect for the quacks any more.

Well, it varies, just like these shots.

Then, you have suppressed news/studies.

Then, you have shot propaganda numbers.

Last I saw, I think the average recovery rate, with Ivermectin, was in the 90s (%).

Shots? Who knows...when you take into account all of the MANY adverse effects....most of which aren’t even being recorded/counted.

Then, there’s the deaths.

So, lets just say they’re at 70%, all things considered.

No deaths with Ivermectin.

Early treatment has proven to be key.

WHY RISK A SHOT THAT HAS NUMEROUS KNOWN ADVERSE EFFECTS, even death, for something that is 99% survivable, especially when you have a LONG USED, FDA approved, safe, effective drug, as the best preventative/treatment option?

Because the quacks are puppets for Big Pharma.

Ask any caregiver of an elderly person.

Hooo, golly, can I relate. First for my Dad, then my Mom. And I'm a (supposedly) tough, exceptionally stable ol' bastard. Well, kinda old, anyway. ;-)

Why, it's almost like there is a concerted effort to run propaganda featuring nurses spouting talking points.

Or most of the people getting killed by COVID these days are people who opted to not obtain a free and widely available vaccine that has been demonstrated to improve your immune response to the disease.

Or like that doc in Alabama who’s talking about all the young healthy people he’s personality supervised as they succumbed after belatedly begging for the vaccine. Except only 20 people under 20 have died in his entire state during the entire epidemic, and not a single one in the last month. (despite COVID-counting of the deaths).

Propaganda, indeed.

Why is that nurse angry? Doesn’t sound like a nurse I’d want.

How did they demonstrate that?

Did they go to the Alternate Universe and observe what happened to the same vaxxed people who didn't get vaxxed in the Alternate Universe?

Hmmmmmmmmmm?

Or do you just FEEL that the vaxx improves your immune response?

Sounds like a Greek or Roman religious cult to me, an actual scientist.

Try it as a young fella not even 20 in a “booking center” in a major city. “REALITY” is NOTHING like what they show on television or the movies. Those who try to imagine how ugly, gritty, filthy, dirty, nasty, mean, evil, awful... have NEVER worked in a place like I did. AND, it was a lot like a conveyor belt that just brings you the worst of humanity every day. In the end, after years of it, you just see futility and you have this overwhelming sense of being mired(trapped, captured, stuck) in it. It was misery, but on rare occasions you could actually make a little positive difference. You had to hang on to that for your sanity AND humanity!

No, this was a physician (if he wasn’t entirely fictional). Last name was Cobia, I think.

My daughter is a newly minted RN in a critical care unit in Florida. She loves it and doesn’t bitch and moan...just got a raise and was offered more hours.

There’s another problem. I’ve not seen one study showing significant benefit (re Covid) from Ivermectin that actually had PROPER controls.

My best guess is that occasionally Ivermectin may help by treating other parallel problems in some people. Others however may not be helped, but they delay seeing their doctor (etc.)

No, they compare medical outcomes of the millions of people who have received the vaccine and the millions of people who have not.

When over 98% of the deaths fall upon people who were not vaccinated a trend is observable, and inferences can be drawn.

It's not that complicated.
