... it is not surprising that the CDC’s own recent conclusion on the use of nonpharmaceutical measures such as face masks in pandemic influenza, warned that scientific “evidence from 14 randomized controlled trials of these measures did not support a substantial effect on transmission…” Moreover, in the WHO’s 2019 guidance document on nonpharmaceutical public health measures in a pandemic, they reported as to face masks that “there is no evidence that this is effective in reducing transmission...” Similarly, in the fine print to a recent double-blind, double-masking simulation the CDC stated that “The findings of these simulations [supporting mask usage] should neither be generalized to the effectiveness …nor interpreted as being representative of the effectiveness of these masks when worn in real-world settings.
... Trusting the science means relying on the scientific process and method and not merely ‘following the leader.’ It is not the same as trusting, without verification, the conclusory statements of human beings simply because they have scientific training or credentials. This is especially so if their views and inquiry have become politicized. Dr. Martin Kulldorff of Harvard’s Medical School has recently commented on the present Covid-19 scientific and research environment by stating, “After 300 years, the Age of Enlightenment has ended.”
Sadly, we must agree, that it’s not just that the age of enlightenment has come to an end, but indeed, that the science itself has been politicized and severely corrupted.

your tax dollars at work?
LOL! Our boxes used to say that, then they removed that.
BTW, the ones that say that aren’t surgical masks.
And most folks don’t buy surgical masks or N95s.
None of this is surprising to me. I’m no scientist but have good common sense to know the hype was built up as a knee jerk reaction, which folks love. IMO
All these mask mandates have ever been are authoritarian coercion for political fealty. You wear the mask, and you take your place, as a serf to the lord in question. Andrew Cuomo used masks for this purpose, as did Whitmer, Wolfe, and Newsom.
This is most like the story of William Tell, the late 13th century Swiss independence leader. He defied the published order by the ruling Austrian Burgermeister to bow to his personal cap on a pole in the town square, in lieu of his presence. This is the same thing, with a bit of the “Yellow Star of David” thrown in. Mask UP, Serfs!
My question is why did the Asian countries do so well with Covid? Japan, Taiwan, South Korea avoided lockdowns and major outbreaks.
The theory was because mask wearing is common in all those countries. Is there a new theory for why they did better than the west?
bkmk

Old people are at higher risk. They have more stored iron.
Men are at higher risk. They hsve more stored iron.
Look at iron deficiency in Asian countries.
