I am retired (and so grateful for that) but I have been in situations where it seemed like the walls were closing in on me....
This may sound totally crazy, but this can be the best time of your life.
It will force you to think very carefully about what is really important to you and consider options you may never have considered before....
Think about what you are really good at—better than the vast majority of other people.
Can you make a business of that? Only you know the answer to that question.
Now is also a great time to reconnect with old friends or relatives who may have small businesses that could use your talents.
Spend quiet time relaxing and letting your mind work its magic. Get lots of sleep. I always got my most creative ideas when I was sleeping—I would wake up and take notes before I forgot them.
Polish your resume while smiling and pretending everything is fine at work—don’t burn any bridges.
Never let them know what you are really thinking.
I also considered buying/selling precious metals, although that presents certain security challenges that I've had trouble working out.
Thanks, cgbg, for your measured words.
Regards,
This is really good advice.
Also consider if those talents can be taken online. We just spend an entire year doing Zoom meetings, Facetime, etc. Work From Home skills doesn’t necessarily have to be call center related. You can do many other things via virtual.
I do 4 week animal behavior modification programs all in the virtual.
And lastly, maybe watch this video because we are really at the Dead Sea Moment: https://subspla.sh/qzc5jqx
Thank you very much . I am soon to be fired from a healthcare position for non-compliance and wisdom such as this is a Godsend.
