We should not be in a position of having to prove that cloth masks don't prevent the transmission of airborne respiratory viruses. The onus is on the people who are issuing edicts that we wear them to show that they do. The problem for them is, there are no metadata studies reinforcing that contention, it's fake science.

If we are “following the science” then we know that masks CANNOT POSSIBLY work against the virus.

Playing devil’s advocate here (maybe?) - the purpose of the mask is to stop the droplets the virus particles are in. It’s like building a chain link fence to stop fleas - it won’t stop fleas by themselves but it will stop the dog that is carrying the fleas.
