essica Springsteen made her Olympic debut in Tokyo today but narrowly missed out on a spot in the individual jumping finals.
The 29-year-old daughter of Bruce Springsteen and his E Street Band wife, Patti Scialfa, was eliminated from the individual competition during the qualifying round, finishing in a tie for 31st place — with the top 30 getting the chance to go for the gold.
But Jessica, who is ranked 14 in the world in show jumping, may get another shot at bringing home a medal on Friday during the jumping team event.
'All in all, I'm thrilled with the round and I'm excited for the rest of the week,' she said, according to the AP.

FWIW - Its a rapidly growing sport among the super-wealthy in China - a country with zero traditional horse-racing, horse-show or landed-gentry farm culture.
They like anything which shows off their wealth and status.

True Dat. The wife and I went to an horse jumping event once a few years ago. I have never seen so many Cadillac Escalades in one place before. The poor people drove Suburbans.
The rich had RV/horse trailers. The really rich had a Semi tractor/RV pulling a huge horse trailer.
The women were very well kept. Plus they all were in very good shape, even the older ones.
It made dog shows look like a bunch of pikers.
Not to mention ol’ Bruce gets a tax exemption on real property in NJ because it is some kind of “farm”.
She could have won but she chose to ride a chihuahua that identified as a horse
