A long train of abuses and usurpations (Vanity)

Tyrants seek to micromanage and control our lives. It has become pervasive within our life times. The rationale for such tyranny is often for the public good, safety or health. Tyranny, by its very nature, goes beyond long establish laws that allow us to live in peace and harmony. For instance, laws against burning, looting and murdering have existed for centuries.

Tyrants not only invent new laws and regulations to control our lives, they also ignore the long establish laws or apply laws unevenly creating protected classes, which now include those that think like them.

Our freedoms and liberties have eroded at the hands of tyrants. Every facet of our lives have been affected. That is the point of this thread. I request that you reply with an example(s) of lost freedom and liberty or alternatively proposed legislation/regulation that will erode freedom and liberty if enacted. Small encroachments are just as important as large. List them all. I will begin below.

TOPICS: Chit/Chat
KEYWORDS: liberty; tyranny
The following are random and serve as examples:

1.) Proposed: forced vaccination for the CCP virus, using experimental vaccinations, and issue of vaccine passports. Freedom at risk: freedom of movement, freedom of association, freedom of employment and more.

2.) Existing: in some states it is illegal to sell, purchase or possess certain firearms based on arbitrary appearance. Lost freedom: right to bear arms and self defense.

3.) Existing: in some states it is illegal to sell or purchase raw milk. Lost freedom: Ability to choose and consume something that had previous been done for millennia. (I had to rack my brain for this one. It is an example of something small that shows how far tyrants will go micromanage lives.)

4.) Existing: It is illegal to smoke in private businesses, e.g., bars. Freedom lost: Ability for businesses to choose what elsewhere legal behaviors are allowed on their property. (Note: I don't smoke, never have, but this used to be common. Smoking or non-smoking is not at issue. It is telling people what they can do with their private property.)

I think the important question to ask is, “How did we lose those freedoms to begin with?” or, “Why didn’t we do anything to stop the loss, when we all knew what was coming?”

I am amazed that this thread is not growing rapidly, the examples of lost freedoms are legion. A few,
The right to own property, if you have to pay a fee to keep it or use it you dont own it. i.e
Property taxes, auto registration.
The right to the free use of said property, the state determines who i am able to rent my home or spare apartment to,should I refuse one of the states protected classes I am likely to lose all I have through lawsuits.
The right to my labor, I can no longer chose who i work for, the news is full of examples of those who chose not to to a project because of concience and have now lost all they own or are now embroiled in legal battles.
The state requires me to wear a seat belt while driving because of potential costs to society if I am injured, and at the same time they in many places provide safe spaces for junkies to inject their poison. In my state they even provide the drugs
Well thats my share for now.
