In the end of The Holy Roman Empire, the people didn’t care if the country was overthrown. The government had become so corrupt and unjust, they welcomed a change that could be better.

People have very high tolerance for pain in groups. They'll continue to ratchet down until some group breaks off and wreaks havoc. There'll be a coup, but most of America will be happy as long as Facebook and NetFlix are still available.

History has been replete with dictatorships, some of which were benevolent, many of which were tyrannical, but ultimately humans go on being human.
