What is the predicted date for the SHTF? We all are thinking it. What will be the Trigger of the Perfect Storm Approaching?
VANITY

Posted on 07/31/2021 8:42:43 AM PDT by tired&retired

What will be the final straw that brings on the chaos? And when? The signs are pretty strong.

Internet attack as Biden predicted?

Cryptocurrency crash?

Immigration invasion?

Government shutdown as debt ceiling is hit again?

Iran/Russia attacking Israel?

Another severe Covid pandemic?

The Audit results being delivered for Arizona/Georgia/Pennsylvania?

The inflation caused by the $3.5 Trillion Social Infrastructure bill. (or bankruptcy)

A stock market crash?

An assassination attempt against Trump?

Food shortages from world crop failures?

China attacking Taiwan?

China shutting off shipments of manufactured goods to USA?

Electric grid or internet crash?

It appears that the Ides of August will be interesting.

I like the model of the demise of the USSR. We wake up one morning and poof, it was gone . Central Govt gone, power claimed by the state govt. Life went on.

>>> ***So if there was such a “great sign” then how come I didn’t see it along with millions of other believers in
Christ?

Because you were not looking.

It’s ok though... I have nothing to prove here.
I’m just saying that’s what I think it means.

We were not really even discussing who Jesus Christ really is... so if you are going to bring up Mark 13:6, why don’t you tell us who He is?

Nobody interpreted anything remotely close to "Rapture" until ~1830.

I'm fine.

1 Thessalonians 4:16-17,

“…then we who are alive, who are left, shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air;…”

1st, this IS the Second Coming of Christ, which clearly follows the Tribulation, and not an event preceding or interrupting the Tribulation.

2nd, it is very public and audible, rather than secret or hidden from those not “raptured”.

Matthew 24:37-42, “As were the days of Noah, so will be the coming of the Son of man.”

“…Then two men will be in the field; one is taken and one is left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one is taken and one is left. Watch therefore, for you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.”

Christ seems to be referring to the destruction of Jerusalem in AD 70, as he warned “…this generation will not pass away till all these things take place”.

Also, notice the people taken away in Noah’s time were the unrighteous, not the righteous, which is the opposite of rapture theory.

In Matthew 24:13 Christ promises “…the one who endures to the end will be saved”. This includes Christians who will endure the Tribulation.

1 Corinthians 15:51-52, “Lo! I tell you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.”

This also refers to the Second Coming of Christ, in that “the twinkling of an eye” refers to the instantaneous change from a mortal body to a glorified body, NOT to the speed of the rapture. Its connection to the blast of the “last trumpet”, heralds Christ’s Second Coming. The Catholic Church has consistently interpreted this passage as such for the last 2000 years.

The Catholic Church rejects the rapture theory for good reason.

It is unbiblical and completely alien to the historic Christian tradition surrounding the Second Coming of Christ. Remember that Christ said he would return on “the last day”, to judge the living and the dead. There will be no secret or hidden coming in the meantime.

If you are alive when the Lord returns, you’ll definitely know about it.

Nobody thought the kings of the east could have an army of 200 million until about 1960. At the time the prophecy was written, there weren’t even 200 million people on the planet.

Are you suggesting Scripture is mistaken due to an inability to understand future population levels?

The Catholic Church rejects the rapture theory for good reason. It is unbiblical...
***Uhh, the catholic church and unbiblical beliefs go hand in hand. This aint a protected religious caucus thread. You don’t get to push religious nonsense unchallenged.

If that is what you want to discuss then open a thread on the rapture. There was already one removed from caucus protection so keep the intent straightforward.

I am saying that applying 1830 level understanding to scripture STILL wouldn’t have caught up with concurrent and future historical realities. Passages that were supposedly impossible were allegorized. Those passages are no longer impossible, but read like yesterday’s newspaper.

So, using that 1830 level nonsense is just... nonsense.
Find a better analogy to apply.

>>> There was no great sign.

The alignment described in Rev 12 occurred on that date, and no other date in history since the fall of Adam and Eve.

“great” does not necessarily mean that everyone would see it.

Americans will never revolt, we are soft and weak. The military will kill us if ordered. They already had to take the Jab, so why wouldn’t they enforce shot mandates?

>>> Jesus is Jehovah God Himself.

You should be more careful about how you use God’s Word in the course of a discussion or argument...

I agree that Jesus is God come in the flesh, and your likening me to someone who preaches another gospel was not only unjustified, but now embarrassing as well.

What you just did is something I would expect from the enemy.

You believe Jesus is God Himself. That’s good. And it is highly important.

You believe some unbiblical nonsense about a sign in heaven That’s not really a sign in heaven. That’s bad. And it is not nearly as important.

Making something of lesser importance into sumthin higher is frowned upon in scripture. As a ferinstance, look up the phrase “endless geneologies”. Lesser importance.Focusing on lesser importance issues is an embarrassment and something I would expect from the enemy.

You are being rebuked in a scriptural fashion using scripture. Like how Paul rebuked Peter. Back off.

There was no planetary alignment described in Rev 12:1.

There was a mention of a strange planetary eclipse on the day Jesus died. And there was a weird planetary event strong enough to be seen by the wisemen from the east when Jesus was born.

The bible doesnt have trouble recording unusual planetary events, which were no doubt ‘great signs’. Your pet project was no great sign. You should just drop it.
