I get treated the same pretty much whatever I do so I might as well ignore those who lie, sell me out, never deliver on one single thing, or take advantage of my good nature but they always want something from me.

In a rare flash of insight during my teen years, I realized that even if I did change to please all the people who didn’t like me, then they wouldn’t respect me because they would see me as weak.
I still wouldn’t be good enough for them, so why even bother trying? If they didn’t like me the way I was, I was not going to let them control my life and lose sleep over it. I had enough to do without trying to please people who didn’t like me anyways.
