Kroger and Walmart, two of the nation's biggest retailing chains, are changing their mask policies as the nation contends with less-vaccinated regions getting hit by high infection rates due to the Delta variant.
Kroger is now "strongly" encouraging all individuals, including those who are vaccinated, to wear a mask when in its stores and facilities, the Cincinnati, Ohio-based supermarket operator said Friday, citing updated recommendations from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Previously, Kroger had required unvaccinated employees wear masks and requested that unvaccinated shoppers do the same.
"We will continue to abide by all state and local mandates and encourage all Americans to get vaccinated, including our associates," the company said in an emailed statement. Kroger, the nation's largest grocer, operates nearly 2,800 stores in 35 states.
Bentonville, Arkansas-based Walmart said it will require all its workers — including vaccinated ones — to wear masks in areas with high infection rates of COVID-19. The country's largest retailer also is encouraging its customers to wear masks in stores in areas with high infection rates from the Delta variant of the coronavirus, and will be adding back signs at entrances announcing its latest policies, according to a memo supplied by Walmart that was sent to its employees Friday.
Walmart will also bring back its "health ambassadors" who will be positioned at the entrances and hand out masks to customers.

So will Wal-Mart deny entrance to people who don’t wish to wear a mask? If so, I’d better hurry and buy what I need. Had planned to wait until my regular every-other-week excursion, but it looks like time is of the essence.
The EU just screwed Amazon like a drunken Tri-Delt
Customers don’t have to wear a masks.
The Mockingbird Media is obsessed with the jab, regardless of the dire consequences.
It really makes you wonder who’s feeding them this narrative constantly.
Hope the new rules won’t be enforced. A believe a majority of people (even our political opposites) are fed up with gasping for breath under a mask, and watching restaurants go out of business with 7 customers an hour kept 6 feet apart.
How can they make a profit?
Not all places can make it on pizza and bagel and coffee style delivery and pickups.
“Your filet mignon, potatoes and asparagus tips will be handed to you in a clamshell at the third door in the alley behind our establishment in 21 minutes exactly. Please be there. $52.10 including tax. Gratuity not included. Please pay with your phone.”
“have both gone to 100% self checkout which I can’t stand”
I wont ask why but I can guess really good..
Does ANYONE REALLY trust the numbers being put out by government? I sure don’t!
The mockingbird media scared the public about the vaccines.
Bloodclots, heart attacks, sudden death. Worldwide, the public doesn’t trust the science anymore.
Game over.....
No. But the corrupt government and media could supply some for you.
Your great tagline (A world in which dogs write poetry is more believable than the world as seen through the Media) reminds me a little of this line:
“It is difficult to get the news from poems yet men die miserably every day for lack of what is found there.” ― William Carlos Williams, Asphodel, That Greeny Flower & Other Love Poems
CBS missed the latest news from the CDC.
It’s the vaccinated folks spreading the diseases.
Perhaps the vaxed Delta accelerators should stay home.
Personally, I prefer the Chicago variant to the Delta variant.
Jazz, that is!
No self checkout for me. In some Walmarts they get up to check out and find they have to do the self thing and just leave carts. . .ice cream and all.
I refuse to do the self checkout thing. It is germy. . .just another way to keep people from socializing with each other. Usually when I strike up a conversation. . .they are either in agreement with me or I have an opportunity to inform them more on an issue.
For this senior it’s checkout by employees, pickup or another store.
It’s all about control . . . it’s all about priming people for the Great Tribulation and the anti-Christ. Be ready everyone and spread the Word. There are only two choices. . .heaven or hell/Jesus or satan.
Sorry, that should say ‘blues’ rather than ‘jazz.
Vacation brain fart, on my part.
Whew! Many thanks for that info. The thing about "health ambassadors" at the doors to hand out masks threw me.
I get real pleasure out and f ignoring them.
“stupid floor vinyl One Way signs “
I ignored them from the beginning.
