I’m curious what you use. I have been this close to buying the Machine MK3 for 2 years now. I have a pile of gift cards I’ve collected over the years - birthdays, holidays etc - to buy one and a keyboard. I play guitar, though I’m pretty much a hack I’d like to be able to compose and record my own songs.
I use GarageBand almost exclusively, and if you have an Mac, iPhone, or Ipad I highly recommend it. It costs $5 for the registered version and is very easy to use.
Cool. I’ve tooled around with garageband on the iphone but just the factory installed version. Maybe worth $5 to see what it unlocks.
Unfortunately I gave up on apple computers circa 1994 or so. Work forced me to Windows. But for the 10 years prior I was all Apple. Grew up on Commodore, then Atari, then Apple //e, then Mac SE etc. I hate to think what it would cost me to buy a new mac on top of the MK3 device software, keyboard and soundbanks. But they dropped the price about $800 on the MK3 with soundbank so I’m almost ready to make a decision. I should investigate more before I cash in all those gift cards. Probably $2k worth collected over the years (guitar center). I have enough guitars I need a back-up band :-)
Best $5 you’ll ever spend. Even if you decide to go with the pro machine, having a recording studio / digital audio workshop in your pocket can’t be beat.
