The UK is one of the most vaccinated countries in the world against Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). Out of the nation’s 68 million people, more than 45 million have received at least a single dose, and over 33 million have been fully vaccinated. However, a new report released by Public Health England (PHE) highlighted the fact that in the past few months, more fully vaccinated people have died from the Delta variant compared to unvaccinated people.
The report, titled “SARS-CoV-2 variants of concern and variants under investigation in England, Technical briefing 16,” examined 60,624 Delta infections between February 1 and June 14, of which 35,521 cases were observed in unvaccinated individuals and 4,087 cases were seen in fully vaccinated individuals who got infected at least 14 days after their second dose.
The death rate for fully vaccinated individuals was 0.636 percent, which was 6.6 times higher than the unvaccinated death rate of 0.0957 percent. 26 deaths were reported among the fully vaccinated individuals, compared to 34 deaths in the unvaccinated. The death rates among fully vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals were both below one percent.
Fully vaccinated individuals were also found to be more prone to hospitalization than their unvaccinated counterparts. Out of the 4,087 fully vaccinated people, 2.05 percent (84 people) ended up in a hospital. Among the 35,521 unvaccinated people, only 1.48 percent (527 people) were hospitalized…

Let’s say the risk of Covid death is .5% for unvaccinated old folks and .1% for vaccinated old folks.
Let’s say the risk of Covid death is .01% for unvaccinated young folks folks and .005% for vaccinated young folks.
Imagine 90% of the old folks get vaccinated and 20% of the young folks get vaccinated.

unvaccinated young dead 80000x.01%=8
vaccinated old dead 90000x.1%=90
vaccinated young dead 20000x.005%=1
The death toll would be 91 vaccinated, 58 unvaccinated.

True, they’re not tracking that data for hospitalized individuals but they are for DEATHS FROM COVID. And that is how they determined that of the nearly 9,000 Texas COVID-19 deaths since February, all but 43 were UNvaccinated people. Do you think the Texans are lying?

I believe they use the one-shot AstraZeneca vaccine in the UK as well as what we use.
Most people in the US get the two-dose mRNA vaccines, which I believe are more effective.

Great explanation. And not inconsistent with the headline of the article.
The CDC dataset shows the total number of COVID-19 deaths since January 2020 to be 604,161.
The total number of deaths by the end of December 2020 were around 385,000, give or take.
The FDA didn't give the emergency use approval until December 12, 2020, so that means that 64% of the deaths were from before the vaccine was even available.
The remaining 36% of deaths occurred while the vaccination program was being rolled out in a phased manner.
The CDC dataset for Texas 2021 COVID-19 deaths shows this:
If we agree on the premise of my earlier post on the phased roll-out of the vaccine, that means that by the end of the Feb-Apr period, 81.5% of the deaths occurred during the period when the vaccine was still being rationed to the highest risk categories.
If we give April back and only look at the Feb-Mar period of roll-out, that still means that 70% of Texas deaths occurred before the vaccine was available to the general public.

They stopped testing fully vaccinated ppl in the hospitals. They announced it about 6 weeks ago.

All of those towns with ‘highest rates’ are border towns.
Last year, many infected illegals were picked up at the border bridge (in El Paso) by OUR (US) ambulances, and taken to (US) hospitals.
No doubt to drum up the case and death numbers.
