I hope you speak better than you write. I don't understand this sentence.
I gave them a price (which I won’t disclose) for remote: I added $3k for in-person appearance; I added $8k for in person in three states. Thought it was clear.
And since I was a NY Times #1 bestseller & a #7 bestseller, yah, I think I write ok.
LOL I DO
He charges more to go to liberal states..... Or, another way to look at it, a discount to go to conservative states.
I understand it fine. It's slightly domain-specific, but I get it. Are you aware that LS has published maybe a dozen books and is a professor of history (although retired)?
LS has a base rate for remote appearances via Skype or Zoom or whatever.
If he appears in person, add $3,000 to the base cost, plus travel and lodging costs.
If he appears in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Chicago, or New York City, add another $8,000 for high cost of living locations.

// I sent back a number for remote: for in-person, $3k more + expenses; for in-person in NY, CA, or IL, $8k more + expenses.

I thought it was pretty clear.
$X for remote
$X+$3k+expenses for in person
$X+$8k+expenses for in person in NY, CA, IL
Obviously he’s not interested in disclosing $x, which is his right.
